8 Festive Lufkin Fall Events In October

Now that temperatures are bearable outside again, Lufkin is slowly coming back to life. This October is full of amazing events put together by many different organizations.

As we arise from the sweltering heat of the past few months, things will start happening all around town this fall. We have a lot to celebrate and enjoy in Lufkin.

Downtown Lufkin Project Nears Completion

The Lufkin Foward grand opening of downtown Lufkin is coming up on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10 AM at 108 S 1st Street. If you haven't already heard, the construction downtown is almost 100% complete and this event ushers in a new era in downtown Lufkin.

The gates are already down and you can enjoy walking around in downtown Lufkin again. The gates were fine, but we are all glad they are gone, and soon the road will be open to traffic again.

Lufkin Comes To Life In October

I have already started to see Halloween decorations in front of houses and a few in town. The Vapor Room has added a giant spider to their yard display this year.

The Ellen Trout Zoo Boo is also set to have many new additions. You can get tickets and sign up for the costume contest online for the first time.
