From January 8th to January 14th, 2025 there were 15 felony arrests in Angelina County. That is exactly the same number as the previous week.

Felons kept the following agencies busy this week, and each had a felony arrest.

There are 253 inmates currently in the Angelina County Jail in Lufkin, Texas. Each is innocent until they are convicted of a crime.

Prior Arrests Rack Up Charges For Lufkin Woman

When you re-offend and commit the same crime you have already been convicted of in the past, it's a slam dunk for the prosecution. If you are going to re-offend with the same crime, it shows that you haven't learned anything, and judges are big on learning lessons.

Ashley Nichole Huges, 28, is in the Angelina County Jail with 5 felony charges. Forgery of a financial instrument/elderly, theft of property with two priors, multiple drug possession charges, and obstruction/retaliation.

According to the Lufkin Daily News, in 2017 when Hughes was 20, she tried to run from a vehicle as it was being stopped for a traffic violation by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office.

Lufkin Woman Re-offends 7 Years Later For Same Crimes

She was caught and arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia,  warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance according to the report.
