I moved to Texas in 1999, and I love it here. It still amazes me, though, the amount of things I don't know about our great state. I could learn something new every single day for the rest of my life and barley scratch the surface of interesting tidbits she has to offer.

The interesting facts are many: from massive movie productions, to milking someone else's cow, and oil, this list is as big as Texas itself.

But first, are you even aware of how Texas got its unique shape?

The shape of today's Texas was defined with the Compromise of 1850, in which Texas gave up its claims to vast tracts of western land in exchange for transferring its crushing public debt to the United States.

While most of you will probably know some of these facts and tidbits, I'm willing to bet that there are a couple, at least, that made our list that you didn't. Now, hop on the bus, I'm taking y'all to school, and yes, it's the one with the most expensive football stadium in the U.S.
