
50-Year Sentence for Texas Man Convicted of Child Abuse
If you commit a horrible crime in Texas, you better be ready to deal with the consequences of your actions.
26-year-old Sharif Ahmad Jasmine is now finding that out as he was recently sentenced to 50 years in prison without the possibility of parole for continuous sexual abuse of a child according to WFAA.
He Was Found Abusing a Child for Multiple Years
The Collin County District Attorney’s office discovered that Jasmine had started sexually abusing the victim when they were just 10 years old, and the abuse continued for three years.

The abuse was only discovered when the child’s mother found graphic messages about the abuse and messages where Jasmine was requesting videos and pictures from the child.
As a way to manipulate the child Jasmine would offer to pay for Wi-Fi on their phone but if he didn’t get the pictures or videos, he wanted he would threaten to stop the phone’s connectivity.
Jasmine Was Set to Go to Court Then Ran Away
Jasmine was set for trial in November of 2023 and while in the courthouse parking lot decided to cut off his own ankle monitor and decided to run from law enforcement.
He was out for almost a month before he was arrested again by the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.
He Cannot Run Away Anymore
Jasmine will now have to deal with his consequences as he sits in prison for the next 50 years.
