The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released its 2025 A-F accountability ratings last week.

Schools across the Lone Star State are assigned a letter grade that corresponds to the measurement of how much students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade.

It also shows how well a school or district prepares its students for success after high school in college, the workforce, or the military.

Overall, in comparison to the past two years, nearly a quarter of all Texas districts showed improvement in their ratings.

Schools with poor ratings could be subject to state intervention. This occurred in 2023 with Houston ISD.

Several schools across the Pineywoods received an 'A' grade. Some of those schools are separated into specific divisions, such as junior high or high school grades only. Some of the smaller districts are rated as an overall Kindergarten through 12th-grade school.
