For the second straight night, someone in Texas has won $1 million through a nationwide lottery drawing.

$1 Million Texas Power Ball Winner

On Monday night, someone in Humble purchased a Powerball ticket that matched all five non-Powerball numbers. That ticket won $1 million. The winner did not spend the extra buck for the Power Play and missed out on doubling their winnings.

Nobody matched all six Powerball numbers so that jackpot has now risen to $478 million. That drawing will happen Wednesday night (October 23).

This CMart store in Austin sold a ticket that matched all five of the non-Mega Ball numbers (8-43-48-58-60). That ticket did not make a match with the Mega Ball number (4). That would have been worth $204 million.

Nobody matched all six numbers so the next Mega Millions drawing on Friday, October 25 will feature a $229 million jackpot. The estimated cash-out amount would be $107.4 million.

How To Increase Your Winnings

The Mega Millions game features a Megaplier option. For an extra dollar per ticket, you can multiply your non-jackpot winnings by the drawn Megaplier ball. The number 3 ball was drawn last night, allowing winners the chance to triple their money if they opted in.

Whoever purchased the $1 million winning ticket in Austin DID NOT make the extra one-dollar purchase to Megaply. That's $2 million that goes as a lost opportunity.

There was another $1 million winner last night. That ticket was purchased in Florida, and that person DID opt for the Megaplier bringing his or her winnings to $3 million.
