Nacogdoches Police Release Victim’s Name in Murder Investigation
According to a post on the Nacogdoches Police Department's Facebook Page, the Criminal Investigation Division is continuing its investigation into the circumstances leading up to the homicide that occurred on July 30th, in the 400 block of West California Street.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Angel Bonilla of Nacogdoches. Investigators have served multiple search warrants and conducted numerous interviews in attempts to follow up on leads and tips.
The investigation is still active with more information expected to be released, however, no arrests have been made at this time.
Details From the Night of the Incident
Around 9:14 p.m. on July 30, Nacogdoches Police began receiving multiple 911 calls about gunshots being heard in the area of Pearl Street and California Street. Officers arrived in the area and found a residence in the 400 block of West California Street that had been struck multiple times by gunfire.
Officers entered the residence to check on the welfare of anyone inside the residence. Once inside, officers discovered an adult Hispanic male who was deceased. The cause of death was believed to be the result from a gunshot wound. The Justice of the Peace responded to the scene and an autopsy was ordered.
The Criminal Investigation Division along with the Patrol Division spent most of the night processing the crime scene and collecting evidence. This is an active investigation and as further information becomes available it will be released.
