Local Doctor Sets Up Benefit for Tessa Aycock at Lufkin Art Walk
A Hidden Talent...Revealed
In the Spring of 2022, I wrote an article on the artistic talents of Dr. George Fidone. The Lufkin pediatrician discovered only recently that he possesses a superb painting talent.
I continue to be amazed at his creations. I'm not necessarily an art connoisseur, but I know enough to recognize the feelings and emotions that are drawn from me when I see his paintings. Fidone continues to flourish in this talent that had been hidden from him for most of his life.
Dr. George Fidone is one of a multitude of outstanding artists in the East Texas area. I highlight him because he is a friend and he has taken care of my children for nearly 3 decades.
Lufkin Art Walk
Saturday from 1-4 p.m. in downtown Lufkin, you will have a chance to see, celebrate, and support the works of numerous area artisans with the inaugural Lufkin Art Walk.
You'll be able to shop unique handmade artwork from local talent from Deep East Texas. There will be live music and much more. Plus, this is a great opportunity to take a huge step in establishing Lufkin as a cultural arts center.
Fidone will be set up inside Real Time Breads located at 115 Shepherd Street in downtown Lufkin. You can stop by and order up some delicious sourdough delights, and take a look at a selection of some of the doctor's paintings that will be on display.
Art For a Great Cause
For the first time ever, Fidone will be taking orders for high-quality prints of any of his works. You can see a wide range of his paintings in the gallery below. These are masterful prints that you would be proud to frame and display in your home or business.
Here's the part I love! Proceeds from any prints sold will benefit Tessa Aycock. January 19 marked the one-year anniversary of the horrific and miraculous events that transpired within the Aycock family.
Tessa's Miraculous Story
It was on that day that two-year-old Tessa fell into a pond and stayed underwater for 30 minutes. She was revived and her uplifting story of recovery continues. Her mother, Amanda, gave us a narrative of the events of January 19, 2022, shortly after they took place.
Tessa continues to receive cutting-edge medical treatments which in many cases require out-of-state travel. You can follow the latest updates on her condition and journey here.
Don't miss out on this unique and wonderful opportunity to support the arts in Downtown Lufkin on Saturday, January 28. I think you will be impressed with the large community of outstanding artists that this area has to offer.
Plus, make it a point to stop into Real Time Breads and see Dr. Fidone's artwork and visit with Amanda and Tessa Aycock. It's not often that you get to see a real-time miracle in person.
