Helping Out Toys for Tots
The holidays are here and every year the United States Marines gather toys and money to help ensure kids across America receive toys for Christmas. In Angelina and Trinity Counties, the Marine Corps League in Lufkin has been spearheading the toy drive for many years in this area.
Last year, nearly 9.000 toys were given to 1,941 children in Angelina and Trinity Counties. With the current economy, it is expected that the need will be greater this Christmas season for the local Toys for Tots campaign.
How to Get a Free Whataburger
On Saturday, November 26, between 10 am - 1 pm, drop by the Whataburger located at 102 S. John Redditt Drive in Lufkin (intersection of Frank Street and Loop 287) and donate a toy or money for the Toys for Tots program, In return, you'll get a coupon good for a free Whataburger. This offer is only good at this Whataburger location.
One coupon per person will be allowed, so bring the family and if each person donates a toy, that's a free Whataburger for each family member. You can either take advantage of the free Whataburger on Saturday or save it for a later date.
The toys must be new and unwrapped, or, of course, we'll take money as well. Just look for the Whataburger tent in front of the store. If it's raining and you don't want to leave your vehicle, we'll be happy to take it from you curbside.
