Officers continue to ask for the public's help in a fatal hit and run that took place in early June.

On June 07, between 10:30 and 10:45 PM, a vehicle struck a bicyclist in the 2300 block of N Timberland Dr (near the overhead railroad crossing). According to investigators, Darryl Thorton was riding his bicycle in the outside, northbound lane of Timberland Dr when he was struck from behind. The driver fled the scene, leaving Thorton in the roadway where he was later pronounced deceased.

The suspect vehicle likely sustained damage to the front end from striking the bicycle tire and bicycle frame. Any transferred paint from the bicycle will be blue in color. The hood and windshield might be damaged too.
Investigators need help identifying the vehicle and driver responsible for this fatal hit and run and Crime Stoppers has a cash reward available for the first, most accurate, anonymous tip that helps solve the case.
