Randy Houser, Neal McCoy to Perform at Free Concert in East Texas
The 3rd annual Old Town Rig Down in Downtown Nacogdoches is set for September 13th and 14th.
This year's event will once again feature some of the biggest and baddest big rigs in the country.
The amount of chrome on display up and down the brick streets of historic Nacogdoches will be eye-popping.There will be numerous food trucks selling a wide variety of delicious selections, plus games and a live auction will also be taking place.
And We Can't Forget The Live Music
Last year, Colt Ford was the headliner at the Old Town Rig Down concerts. This year, Neal McCoy and Randy Houser will be featured.
Friday, September 13, there will be a free concert on the CVB Stage located on Pilar Street. The show will feature the 2109 Band at 7:30 p.m. followed by Tony Justice at 9 p.m.
There will also be a truck light/glow show starting at dusk.
On Saturday, September 14, the concert venue will move just a few hundred yards south to Festival Park. Neal McCoy will start his performance at 7 p.m. followed by Randy Houser at 8:30 p.m.
All concerts are free to the community.
Raising Money for the Community
This annual event is presented by the Massey Rose Foundation, which is a non-profit organization. 100% of the proceeds from this event will be distributed among area agencies.
Last year, over $287,000 was given to these wonderful organizations:

- Christ Episcopal
- Harold’s House
- Nacogdoches Hero Foundation
- Keep Nac Beautiful
- Nacogdoches Education Foundation
- Boys and Girls Club of Nacogdoches
The Run Down of Rig Down
Friday, September 13
The event starts at 5 p.m. Downtown Nacogdoches will be closed to traffic. You're welcome to walk the brick streets and take a look at the multitude of trucks that will be on display.
When the sun sets, it's lights on for the big rigs. You'll want to take pictures of the lights, the neons, and other fantastic glowing truck decor.
Saturday, September 14
The event starts at 10 a.m. Once again, you'll be able to browse the big rigs. Later in the afternoon, a live auction will be held on the Nacogdoches CVB stage.
Around 5 p.m., awards will be presented on stage at Festival Park. There will be awards for best combo, best day cab bobtail, best sleeper bobtail, people's choice, and best of show.
