That somebody matched all the numbers in Friday's drawing (30-43-45-46-61 with a Mega Ball of 14).

We will probably never know the name of that individual, but he/she is now the winner of one of the biggest jackpots in lottery history. That jackpot was worth an estimated $1.35 billion with a lump sum cash payout in the neighborhood of $725 million.

Maine also has a state income tax, so that will take a sizable chunk out of those winnings, but after all the calculators have been put away, this winner is still getting several hundred million of dollars. With that kind of money, you could even afford the rising price of eggs.

Never heard of Lebanon, Maine? Here are a few tidbits about the town.

  • The population is around 7,000
  • It's the westernmost town in Maine, located right on the doorstep of New Hampshire
  • It's about a 45-minute drive to Kennebunkport, where President Bush vacationed
  • Somebody from Lebanon can now afford to buy Bush's vacation estate

Fourteen folks who played Friday's Mega Millions game matched all five of the non-Mega Ball numbers.  They each won $1 million. One of those winners is from the Houston area. That winning ticket was sold at the Sunrise Super Stop on Richmond Drive.

That's the place in the picture below.

And so the Mega Millions starts over again with a jackpot of $20 million. By the way, the Power Ball jackpot is now up to $404 million just in case you think you have a chance to overcome the 1 in 300,000,000 odds of getting the winning numbers.
