After years of speculation and rumors swirling every month about the expected Verizon iPhone launch date, the day has finally come for Verizon Wireless customers and iPhone lovers.Lowell McAdam, president and COO of Verizon said:

It is coming "early next month."Pre-orders start Feb. 3 for existing Verizon customers. On Feb. 10, it will sell to everyone at Verizon and Apple stores. The price will be $199 for 16GB device, $299 for 32GB model, both with 2-year plans.

However, not everyone is optimistic about the move. Tech know-it-alls say AT&T probably still has the advantage, provided they still plan to launch the iPhone 5 at some point this year. Verizon’s decision to launch the phone on a 3G platform could also put them at a disadvantage as cellular companies continue to build out their more-powerful 4G networks.

Verizon’s move makes the iPhone 4 available to its nearly 100 million users, at prices that are about the same as AT&T’s.

I use Verizon as my phone carrier, but sadly I'm not eligible for an upgrade for another year and a half. The good thing is that by then, they may have a newer version of that phone out!

Verizon customers, will you be getting the iPhone next month?
