Here's an update on Dez Bryant's latest problem. We know he was arrested Saturday on a charge of Family Violence.  Now the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports it is his mother, Angela Bryant, that he is charged with assaulting.

The incident happened in the Dallas suburb of DeSoto. In an emotional 911 call, Angela Bryant can be heard telling friends that her son tried to kill her and that she's going to "put an end to it today."

The DeSoto police report quotes Angela Bryant as saying her son hit her across the face with a ball cap, pulled her hair, tore her shirt and bra, and repeatedly struck her hands and wrists when she tried to push him away.

Bryant surrendered to authorities Monday and was charged with misdemeanor Family Violence with Bodily Injury. If convicted he could get up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Even if he's not found guilty of the criminal charge, Bryant could still face discipline under the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy.

A spokesman for the Dallas Cowboys says the team is still gathering information on this incident, but has no comment on it.

The worst thing about this, for Dez, is that it's generating a lot of talk around the question: "Is Dez Bryant more trouble than he's worth?" Growing numbers of people don't think he is.
