On Friday, parts of north central and northeast Texas experienced rains totaling over 10 inches.  Major roadways such as Interstates 45 and 35 were impassable and continue to be shut down in some areas.

Major flooding along Chambers Creek and its tributaries made travel in and around Corsicana and Navarro County virtually impossible.

And that was just round one.

Moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Patricia are now moving across the Lone Star State and more heavy rains are expected across the central and eastern parts of Texas.  This time around, south central, southeastern, and east Texas could pick up historic rainfall amounts.

Even though we've been extremely dry over the past 3+ months, when this amount of rain falls in a short period of time, flooding is imminent.  Just look at the video above from the Corsicana area to see proof of that.  For this reason, travel across east and southeast Texas is highly discouraged from Saturday afternoon through early Monday morning.
