"Thanks Coach Outlaw For Treating Each Of Our Children As Though They Were Your Own" [AUDIO]
Those were some of the words spoken by Lufkin ISD Superintendent Roy Knight in October during a presentation honoring Coach John Outlaw for his landmark 300th win as a head coach.
How could we have known that those words would be used again in just a couple of months for a very somber occasion. Coach, teacher, mentor, and to many, a father figure, Coach Outlaw was all of these.
Funeral services will take place this morning at 11 at the Lufkin Middle School Auditorium, burial will take place tomorrow in Arkadelphia.
The great college football coach Eddie Robinson said “Coaching is a profession of love.
You can’t coach people unless you love them.”
Well said Coach Robinson….well done Coach Outlaw.
