Being number 1 isn't always a good thing, especially in this category.  The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says it got more complaints of workplace discrimination from workers in Texas than from any other state last year. The EEOC says one out of every 10 job discrimination complaints filed nationwide last year came  from Texas.

The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M has released a report showing the Longview metro area of Gregg, Rusk and Upshur counties posted a 4.2 percent rate of employment growth for the period of June 2010 through this June.  That's the highest rate in the state.
