Being number 1 isn't always a good thing, especially in this category.  The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says it got more complaints of workplace discrimination from workers in Texas than from any other state last year. The EEOC says one out of every 10 job discrimination complaints filed nationwide last year came  from Texas.

Officials at the Texas Workforce Commission say they're getting reports that scam artists are targeting people who're drawing unemployment benefits, and are tricking them into giving them their personal information.

The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M has released a report showing the Longview metro area of Gregg, Rusk and Upshur counties posted a 4.2 percent rate of employment growth for the period of June 2010 through this June.  That's the highest rate in the state.

It's happening in Tyler and Longview.  About 75 contract employees who help people who are out of work will be unemployed by the end of September.
