Parts of East Texas to Get Partial Views of Solar Eclipse

An eclipse like this only happens once every twenty years, and it will be viewable in Texas Sunday; partially anyway.

A solar eclipse is when the moon blocks out the sun for a time, and leaves a ring of fire around its circumference. The sky gets a little spooky-looking for a bit and then the moon and sun part like a good Dancing with the Stars release move, and life goes back to normal.

Spots like Reno, NV and Albuquerque, NM will have the most spectacular views of the complete eclipse, but the entire path of the eclipse stretches from China to Texas. Plenty of folks will have the opportunity to see the rare show of nature.

Farmer’s Market Open For Business In Nacogdoches

I’m always looking for local honey, since I’ve heard it’s good at helping with local allergies. Getting too scientific about it might make my head explode, but I’ve heard ingesting what the bees produce is supposed to help fight off seasonal allergies. Josh Haddox of Nacogdoches is a champ! Josh goes to school at Texas A&M and is part of a fishing team there with Timothy Temple of Bryan, TX. The two just won the National Guard FLW College Fishing Southern Conference event on Lake Eufala in Oklahoma over the weekend.

Call it beginner’s luck, since this was their very first National Guard FLW College Fishing Event. How much cash did they earn for catching all those bass?

Nacogdoches Voted Runner-Up Friendliest Small Town By USA Today

The Best of the Roads contest teams started in New York City and winded up in Los Angeles, exploring the best small towns in America along the way.

Nacogdoches made the list of friendliest towns, and finished as a runner-up along with Mount Airy, N.C., Lake Havasu City, AZ, Valdosta, GA and Woodward, OK. The winning town was Walla Walla, WA.

Other categories included best food, most beautiful, most patriotic and most fun.

The SFA University Police Department has arrested 19 individuals in connection to an undercover drug investigation the department has conducted for "a very long time," according to Chief Marc Cossich.
