It is often said that a good deed is its own reward. However, John Turner got quite a bit more than that when he went to New Jersey to help with Hurricane Sandy clean up.
Nature straight up does not care that we are nowhere near recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Winter Storm Athena is on her way to kick us square in the jollies.
Surely karma will take care of these folks.
There are reports (and maybe you’ve seen the posts) that people on Facebook and other social media sites are claiming to be storm victims when they’re not. Those folks are asking for money right along with legitimate hurricane relief efforts, generating sympathy, and in some cases making a buck.
Truthfully, we missed most of Hurricane Sandy, the storm that rocked most of the East Coast, yesterday. Because we were inside ... away from the windows, with our curtains closed ... like we were supposed to be. These people weren't, however, so now we can see what was going on outside while we were playing board games with our fingers crossed. Here is some crazy video from yesterday's storm.

This morning, much of the East Coast is picking up the pieces after the massive storm known as Hurricane Sandy swept through, leaving millions without power, causing untold economic damage, and killing at least 21 people. Flooding caused largely by enormous, unprecedented storm surges has crippled transportation routes and wreaked havoc on low-lying areas.
