In the 2nd quarter of the preseason opener for the Dallas Cowboys, Gus Johnson powered in from 5 yards out to give the 'Pokes their first touchdown of the year, and the SFA Nation beamed with pride when the Gilmer Buckeye flashed the Axe 'em, Jacks sign.

In his first game as a professional football player, Johnson carried the ball 13 times and totaled 35 yards.  His touchdown, along with a weaving 10 yard gain, and a head-down, driving 4th and one conversion were Johnson's main highlights.

But here's the bad news...Gus Johnson suffered an AC joint separation in the game.  It's a shoulder injury that Gus the Bus shrugged off in postgame interviews.  Depending on the severity of the injury, he could be out a couple of days to a couple of weeks, which is not good news for a rookie trying to make his mark in training camp, especially with a couple of injured veterans ready to return to the running back fold.

Whatever the outcome, the SFA alum started a game for the Dallas Cowboys and scored their first touchdown of the year, and no one can ever take that away.
