Lufkin Police are hoping the public can provide information concerning an overnight altercation that resulted in shots fired and serious injuries.  The following is from the official LPD press release concerning the matter. 

At approximately 12:15am on April 9 officers of the Lufkin Police Department were advised by hospital personnel at Memorial Health Systems that three gunshot victims had arrived at the emergency room.  Two of the victims, Uric Godet and Trasmin Perkins both of Lufkin, sustained injuries to their leg. The third victim had been shot in the back.  Godet and Perkins were treated and released from the hospital.  The third victim was later transported to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston by helicopter.   The 3rd victim's identity has not been released.

Lufkin Police Department detectives were notified and responded to the scene.  During the initial portion of the investigation, detectives learned that the incident occurred in the vicinity of Winston Park located at 1009 Clinton Street in Lufkin. From the information gathered by detectives, it appeared that the shooting was gang related.
