The Oldest Town in Texas is going to have a huge day celebrating our nations Independence. There recent press release really gets down to all the details!

Families are invited for food, games, contests, music and more-- all part of the annual Freedom Fest hosted by the Nacogdoches Jaycees.  This all-American event is free to the public and will include a spectacular firework show after dark.

The event will be held in Festival Park, just south of downtown Nacogdoches, on July 4th, starting at 5pm.  Washer Tournament sign ups ($20/team) will be on site, commencing competition at 6pm.  There will also be a free-to-enter Hotdog Eating Competition at 6:30pm.  Food vendors, a children's activity area, and other community sponsors will be present as well to ensure a great evening for all.

The Nacogdoches Jaycees organizes this free community event with the help of local sponsors, and welcomes any additional financial support.  To donate, please visit: www.gofundme.com/JayceesFreedomFest.  For questions, please call (936) 205-1738.

Washer Tournament, hotdog Eating competition, live music, and more? If you live in Nacogdoches, it doesn't seem like you can afford to miss out on this celebration.

Help spread the word about their go fund me project, as putting on the fireworks show costs $15,000 and any amount of help is welcome. Here are the details from their go fund me page.

The Nacogdoches Jaycees would like your help with Freedom Fest 2016. Freedom Fest is a fun, safe, family oriented event where we can celebrate our nations independence together as a community. There will be food, games, bounce houses, relays, entertainment and of course FIREWORKS! The cost of the fireworks show is $15,000, and we need your help to fund this spectacular display. The Jaycees will match, dollar for dollar, up to $7,500 dollars for the 2016 Freedom Fest fireworks. Chances are, you have seen this show in years past, either from the square or one of the many parking lots that are filled every year and you know what it means to come together and celebrate Freedom and Independence. This year you have the opportunity be more than a spectator and be a part of the tradition. Make your contribution today and pitch in for a great show! On behalf of the Nacogdoches Jaycees, thank you.
