The Angelina County Appraisal District is asking the community to pray for the family of Chief Appraiser Tim Chambers, as he lost a son in an auto-pedestrian accident in Colorado early Monday morning.
Tim and his family were on their way back from a skiing trip in Colorado when the accident happened near Raton Pass, Colo., around 1 a.m., killing Taylor Chambers and critically injuring Patrick Chambers, according to Deputy Chief Appraiser Mark Lansford.
“From what we understand, Patrick and Taylor got out to render aid to a motorist who slipped off the road into a ditch. As they were walking back to their own vehicle, a drunk driver hit them,” Lansford said. “Taylor was killed instantly and Patrick was taken to University Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., where he is in critical condition. They have him in a medically-induced coma.”
Lansford said the driver of the vehicle that hit the two men was arrested.
