Ben Weber of Lufkin served during World War II and suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and eye, in the battle for Iwo Jima.

He'll receive medals for his military service this Sunday, and a political dignitary is coming to Lufkin to present them.

Weber is 90 years old now, and KTRE reports he's okay with the fact that the accolades for his military service are coming late in life.

U.S. Representative Louis Gohmert will present Weber with his medals on Sunday at the Southside Baptist Church off of Tulane Drive at 10 a.m.
