Natalie Portman has some interesting projects on the horizon, including the long-delayed Jane Got a Gun and Jackie, the latter of which has revealed its first official photo featuring the actress as former First Lady and widow of President John F. Kennedy. It looks about as you’d expect, though Portman does make for quite the lovely leading (first) lady.

Deadline debuted the first image from Jackie, the new film from director Pablo Larrain (No) and produced by Portman’s Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky. Many films and television series have tackled the story of the former President, who died tragically in Dallas when he was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald.

But few films have explored the life of Jacqueline Kennedy, JFK’s gorgeous, kind-hearted and aspirational First Lady, who famously offered a tour of the White House in a television special that aired on multiple networks, and who hopped on a plane to swear in Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson immediately following her husband’s death — with his blood still splattered on her pink Chanel suit.

Jackie is currently filming in Paris, where JFK took his First Lady two years before his untimely death in Dallas. Peter Sarsgaard is playing President Kennedy opposite Portman, with Greta Gerwig and John Hurt in supporting roles. The film was scripted by Noah Oppenheim (The Divergent Series: Allegiant), and will presumably hit theaters sometime late next year or in early 2017.

In the meantime, Portman can be seen next in Jane Got a Gun and Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups. She’s also slated to portray another famous political icon in On the Basis of Sex, in which she’ll take on the role of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and she’s signed on to star in Annihilation, a new sci-fi film from Ex Machina director Alex Garland.
