July 4th Fireworks In and Near Lufkin and Nacogdoches

It’s a Fourth of July tradition – get the family together, grill up some burgers & dogs, enjoy one of our local festivals or fairs, and then get on a picnic blanket and watch the fireworks that celebrate our country’s freedom. Sound good to you? Check out the Nacogdoches and Lufkin celebrations here.


Nacogdoches Freedom Fest

  • When: 5:00 – 9:30PM
  • Where: Nacogdoches Festival Plaza
  • How Much: Free!

Fireworks start 30 minutes after sunset. Coolers, blankets, and chairs are permitted, but no glass bottles or alcoholic beverages please!

The 3rd Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest will begin at 6:30, competitors may register the day of the event.

The 4th Annual Star-Spangled Pitch-Off Washer Tourney will also take place at 6:00 PM. The entry fee is $20.

Other viewing areas include: University Mall, Williamsburg Plaza, Downtown Square, Nacogdoches County Courthouse, Coy Simms Softball Park, Brookshire Brothers on South Street and the Hotel Fredonia.

Preregistration forms for all events and more information for Freedom Fest are available at the Nacogdoches Visitor’s Bureau website.


Lufkin Fireworks at Ellen Trout Zoo

  • Where: Ellen Trout Zoo
  • How Much: Free!

Fireworks will begin at sundown.

Please note, there will be no onsite parking. Shuttle buses will begin running at 4:30 PM from Lufkin High School to take guests too and from the Zoo.

Rides on the Z and O O railroad will begin at 1:00.

Live entertainment will begin onstage at 5:00.


Alabama-Coushatta Fireworks in Livingston

  • When: Saturday, July 5, 5:00 – 9:30PM
  • Where: 571 State Park Road 56, Livingston, TX
  • How Much: $5 parking fee

Enjoy music and dance performances all afternoon and evening before the fireworks display begins at 9:30.

Please note, this is a drug and alcohol free event. Lawnchairs are encouraged due to limited seating.
