According to a release from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office (NCSO), a Huntington man has been arrested after an investigation by the NCSO and the Texas Rangers for possession of child pornography.  The Sheriff's Office received a complaint from a resident in Nacogdoches after the suspect sent child pornography pictures over a cell phone.

On Tuesday, December 27th, the Sheriff's Office conducted a sting operation at a local motel in Nacogdoches and arranged for the suspect to come to the motel room. The suspect thought he was meeting a female at the motel room.  When the suspect arrived, Sheriff Deputies were waiting for him. The suspect was positively identified from the pictures that he had sent over his phone that NCSO investigators had obtained. When deputies confronted the suspect, he resisted arrest and Deputies had to use force to take him into custody.

The suspect is identified as Travis Young, 27. A warrant was obtained for Young's arrest for the offense of Possession of Child Pornography, a 3rd degree felony. Young was also arrested for resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.

Young was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on Tuesday night. Bond has been set at $150,000 on the child pornography charges.

On December 28th, the Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of the Texas Rangers after finding information that there may be possible victims in this case who reside outside of Nacogdoches County. This investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected to be filed at a later date. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office at 936-560-7794.
