Houston Area Daycare Tells Parents to ‘Get Off Your Phone!’

Signs posted to the door at a daycare is nothing new.  Many times these signs will give instructions to parents about upcoming fundraisers, special hours, or a few set rules...but, a daycare in Rose Hill, Texas (near Tomball), in no uncertain terms, spelled out why parents should 'GET OFF YOUR PHONE'. 

A sign posted read this way:

You are picking up your child!

GET OFF YOUR PHONE!!!!

Your child is happy to see you!  Are you happy to see your child??  We have seen children trying to hand their parents their work they completed and the parent is on the phone.  We have heard a child say "Mommy, mommy, mommy..." and the parent is paying more attention to their phone that their own child.  It is appalling.

Juliana Farris Mazurkewicz (picture above) took a picture of the sign and posted it to her Facebook page and it has gone viral with over 1 million shares and over 8,000 comments.  She has done interviews in the past day or two with the Today Show, Inside Edition, Fox, ABC, Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, and many others.

So...what do you think about the sign?  By the way, the daycare did update the sign to respond to those that criticized it as to crass.
