Here in Texas, we have people still struggling with Hurricane Harvey devastation, and will have people dealing with it for awhile. One group that is often forgotten about in the wake of the hurricane damage is the group of farmers and ranchers. These people lost crops, cattle, and so much more of their livelihood when the hurricane came through.

But you can help these people out, with the assistance of Heritage Land Bank and Texas Farm Bureau. Right now, through December 31st, Heritage Land Bank will match any monetary donation made to the "Heritage Harvey Challenge", up to $50,000.

The goal is to raise $100,000 or more to help out the farmers and ranchers here in Texas that were impacted most by Hurricane Harvey. All the money donated will go to the Texas Farm Bureau's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

I'm thinking - in my own personal opinion - that we here in East Texas should have no problem raising those funds to help out, especially when it's going to such a worthy cause.

The Heritage Land Bank Headquarters are in Tyler, but they have branches all over East Texas, including a couple right here in Nacogdoches and Lufkin. You can take your monetary donations there in-person, or you can make them online at HeritageLandBank.com/Harvey.
