I heard a rumor many years ago, that at one point early in his career Elvis performed in the Lufkin area. I firmly believe that to be true, but I can't find it in any of the records. He played tons of times in 1954-55, a then 19 year old Elvis played gigs all over Texas. I saw unexpected places like Texarkana, Shreveport, Carthage, Tyler and Longview. Makes one think that a one night undocumented layover performance, could have been possible. Normal places you would expect like Austin, Houston, and Memphis popped up on the list, all before he hit it big.

Relive those moments, and a lot more, at the Pines Theater in Lufkin this Friday, March 23rd. I can't think of a more fitting setting for a tribute to the "King." Being a life long fan, and with a passable impression, I have always been interested in Elvis. Hope you can still get tickets.

Las Vegas Headliner Donny Edwards performs a world renowned tribute to Elvis Presley that is one of a kind, and should not be missed. Donny Edwards and Fever, an Authentic Tribute to Elvis. Get your tickets at thepines.visitlufkin.com, or call 936.633.0279.
