YouthBuild students have been teaming up with Nacogdoches County Habitat for Humanity to build a home, and in the process they're learning more than just construction skills.

YouthBuild is a program sponsored by Goodwill Industries, that helps kids with battered pasts turn their lives around.  After classroom instruction, those in the program get to go out into the field and put their skills to the test, and perhaps practice the skills that could earn them a job someday.  The program recently teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to help add siding and other finishing work to a home in Nacogdoches County.

The YouthBuild program has grown since its inception in 1998, and the one based in Lufkin is one of 273 programs nationwide.  Click HERE to get involved.
