Early voters can go to any location without worrying about the precinct, and the lines may be shorter than they will be on election day.  Those are two big reasons to get it done.  If you're planning on casting an early ballot, you've got four locations to choose from in Angelina County.

Monday, October 22 will be the first day of early voting ahead of the November 6th election.  Casting an early ballot has been a huge timesaver for me in the past, and I'm planning to do it again this year.  If you're a regular early voter too, maybe you've developed a strategy and have a few helpful tips like these.

If you can make it to a polling location in the middle of the morning or early to mid-afternoon and it's not the final day of early voting, the lines are usually pretty short and the process probably won't take longer than 15 minutes.  If you go right when the polls open, or at lunch, or when they're about to close, it can take longer.  But overall, early voting spreads out the crowds over two weeks time instead of inviting everyone out on the same day, and that shortens lines and saves time.

Voting is important and we should do it even if it's not easy.  But if we can cast a ballot and still have time to get to the grocery store before heading back to work, it makes the process a little more rewarding.

As long as you're registered to vote, you can show up at any early voting location starting next week.  Take your ID, and you'll be all set.
