If you looked up and saw a man on top of the Lufkin Loop at the 94 exit, he came down, and is safe.

Police were getting reports on Friday, September 1, 2017, of a man who seemed upset while talking on the phone and walking on the Loop 287 overpass/ Hwy 94 exit. This happened the morning of around 8:30 AM in Lufkin.

The man was on the top of the overpass, and obviously distraught, and allegedly contemplating suicide. After a few phone calls to the man, he started to walk down the overpass. Lufkin Police sprang into action, and noticed on arrival he was on his way back down. So they held back to wait to make contact. Once safely down, officers spoke to the man and he was taken to the Burke Center in Lufkin.
