Detours up on US Highway 59 Today

If you're traveling on US Highway 59 today you'll be rerouted, as crews make emergency repairs to an overhead train crossing after an 18-wheeler hit it Wednesday.

Southbound traffic from Nacogdoches will have to move over to FM 3439/Spence Street.  Northbound lanes are open, but the Texas Department of Public Safety says the southbound lanes will remain closed this morning.

KTRE reports that Union Pacific employees worked overnight Wednesday to check the structural integrity and make repairs, but more repairs are needed before it can reopen.
