Community Leader Dies in Lufkin

A woman known for helping others in need in Lufkin passed away over the weekend.

A wake will happen this Friday evening, with the funeral on Saturday.

Linda Pendland had been with the HOPE Center for over then years, and served as the Executive Director.  She died a few days ago at the age of 63.

Because she touched so many lives locally, a big crowd is expected for the funeral.  There will be a wake Friday evening at the Hope Center from six to eight.  The next day, Saturday the 13th, the funeral will be held at Lufkin Civic Center at 11am.
