Poor Charles Barkley. If it weren't for the dumb and outrageous things he says on TV, no one would pay the slightest attention to him. Barkley is paid princely sums to be mouthy and abrasive in public, but now he's taken "mouthy and abrasive" one step beyond.

Barkley has had his fill of Tebow mania.

On a radio sports talk show in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Barkley was asked about Tebow and the Broncos' improbable overtime victory over the Steelers in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs.

Never one to pull punches, Barkley didn't hide his feelings about Tebowmania.

"The national nightmare continues. Hey, listen, I like Tim Tebow but there comes a point, he had a great game. He's supposed to have a great game."

Barkley was then asked if he has had enough of Tebow.

"I think the world has," Barkley replied. "Let's just say the jury is still out on Tebow. He seems like a nice kid but these ups and downs are so different. Just because he had a great game and made four or five great throws...doesn’t mean he's gonna be a great starting quarterback in the NFL."

Barkley should be glad that a pleasing personality isn't required for entry into the NBA Hall of Fame.  If it were he would still be on the outside looking in.
