Lufkin Football Coach John Outlaw Passes Away Friday Morning [AUDIO]

The Panther Nation has lost one of our finest this morning.

Head Coach John Outlaw passed away earlier today, collapsing after a morning jog.

Even though he amassed over 300 wins as a head coach, he was proud to be more of a mentor than a coach.  You had to play hard to play for Coach Outlaw, but his players knew that he would always be there for them, and no coach could ever love his players more.

Update: ESPN’s Craig James Running for US Senate

Former star running back Craig James ran for a lot of  yardage and touchdowns in high school, college and professional football.  Since he retired from playing in 1989, he's made a living as a sports analyst on CBS and ESPN, but now he wants to take his "running" abilities to the next level.

James has quit his TV job and he's running for the US Senate.

Texas A&M has fired head football coach Mike Sherman.  This means the Aggies will go into the Southeastern Conference next year with a new coach, who, if the rumors come true, might be the current coach at the University of Houston -- Kevin Sumlin.
