Andrea Yates Wants to Attend Church

Remember Andrea Yates?  She's the Houston woman who was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the drowning deaths of her five children back in June of 2001.  Yates is now a patient at the Kerrville State Hospital, and through her attorney, she's asking to be allowed out of the facility once a week to go to church.

Feds Want to Ban Kids Under 16 From Farm Work

The U.S. Department of Labor is considering changes in federal child labor laws that would prohibit children under the age of 16 from doing most any kind of work around a farm.  If the changes are adopted, farm kids not yet 16 years old wouldn't be allowed to operate farm machinery or even work with livestock.

As you might expect, this is causing a firestorm of protest from Congressmen, farmers and others, especially in farm states.

Major Airport Will Evict TSA Screeners

Orlando Sanford International Airport officials say they will take advantage of a new law, and try again to opt out of using TSA workers to screen passengers.  They want to hire their own screeners to do that, but using federal standards and under federal oversight.
