Living in East Texas probably isn't as exciting at life in New York, but we have our own set of super heroes that should be considered for the next Avengers movie.

The most popular teams end up in the prime TV slots during the NFL season, and after years of dominance by the Cowboys, the Texans are starting to catch up. Between the two teams, fans will get seven prime-time games this fall.

The Houston Renaissance Festival takes place every fall, and Scarborough Faire is the North Texas option for the spring. That's open now, and it's the place to go if you're craving one of those sausage-wrapped Scotch Eggs to go with a little jousting.

It's festival season in East Texas, and it's high time we enter some chili cook-offs, check out some car shows, ride some carnival rides, and eat some food on a stick. If we hop in the car on any given weekend, it's likely we can roll into festival somewhere, and Gladewater has a good one coming up in ten days.

Kids can get two free games of bowling EVERY DAY this summer, and all we have to do is sign them up. This program keeps growing, and now might be the time to petition our favorite bowling alleys to get more of them involved. Some that are a short drive away will be part of it.

Beards are everywhere now, and some of you guys have a real knack from growing some doozies! Now you've got a chance to get paid for it if you can grow the longest one.

Texans don't like to underachieve, and this is new evidence. Some of our neighbors in East Texas have had success stringing together a whole lot of dishes of ice cream to set the Guinness World Record for the longest sundae, but did they get to eat it before the inevitable melt?

This happens to me every year when the kids and I are coloring Easter eggs, and I bet I'm not alone.
