Whitney Houston, the only artist to ever have seven consecutive #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, died tonight, according to a statement from her representative. She was 48.

PETA Lawsuit Claims Performing Orcas are Slaves

Are the captive killer whales at SeaWorld and other sea parks "slaves" that are being held in involuntary servitude?  Do orcas and other animals have the same rights as humans?

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says "yes" to both questions, and they're making a federal case out of it.

Injured Texas Model Gets Prosthetic Eye

There's good news to report today about 23 year old Texas model and fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs, who was critically injured in a horrific  accident at a small airport north of Dallas back on December 3rd.

Lauren walked into a spinning airplane propeller and her injuries were brutal.  She lost her left hand and had permanent damage to her left eye.  Now, two months later, it's reported that Lauren is recovering and bouncing back, slowly, thanks to prosthetics and the love of her family.

Priceline Kills off William Shatner as Pitchman

All good things must come to an end.  The curtain has come down on veteran actor William Shatner's long running role as the Negotiator in the popular Priceline commercials.

Just as Capt. James T. Kirk died in the line of duty, Shatner's Priceline Negotiator has now moved on to his final frontier, the "undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns."

They killed him off, but he died heroically, of course.
