FBI Warns Public of New Internet Scams

The FBI Internet Complaint Center has issued a national warning about new trends in cyber crime, and new twists in some old cyber scams.

The long and short of it is that cyber crooks are always looking for new ways to pick your pocket over the Internet, and they very often update their old scams and re-use them.

Andrea Yates Wants to Attend Church

Remember Andrea Yates?  She's the Houston woman who was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the drowning deaths of her five children back in June of 2001.  Yates is now a patient at the Kerrville State Hospital, and through her attorney, she's asking to be allowed out of the facility once a week to go to church.

Lottery Winner Loses Food Stamp Benefits

A Michigan woman who won a $1-million state lottery jackpot has learned there is such a thing as too much good luck.

Michigan’s Department of Human Services has cut off the woman's $200 dollars a month in food aid, after it learned she won the state lottery last September.  She kept getting her monthly benefits, which is why DHS has taken away her Michigan Bridge EBT card and turned her case over to state law enforcement for possible fraud charges.

It's an old saying that you can't scam a scammer.   A 23 year old woman in Australia will tell you that's not necessarily so, because she did it, to some Nigerians no less.

She also got in trouble because of the way she did it.

Update: Beautician Who Enlarged Breasts Arrested

Tyler police have arrested a beautician who is charged with practicing medicine without a license, and you won't believe what she's accused of doing.

Tyler police say Carmel Foster included "breast enlargement" on her list of services at her beauty salon. Unfortunately, one of her customers is now in critical condition at a hospital in Longview.
