The Lufkin News reports retail stores across the state are gearing up for the annual tax-free weekend this Friday through Sunday. With the first day of school getting close, parents can save money on everything from school supplies to clothing.

The Texas State Comptroller’s Office estimates shoppers will save close to $65 million dollars in state and local sales taxes over the coming weekend.

It's worth mentioning that tax free weekend is for everybody.  Not just parents and school kids.  It's available for the public at large.  Many stores and merchants offer big discounts to lure people in, so it's possible to fill up a closet with clothes and not spend a lot of money.
