Bryan Man Facing Flag Desecration Charges
We don’t hear much about flag desecration anywhere these days, much less here in east Texas, but we have one from Crockett. The Houston County Courier has the story of a man who was arrested and charged with desecrating the United States flag.

Terence D. Johnson of Bryan was arrested in Lovelady back in May after he ripped a flag down outside a store where he claimed a merchant said insulting things about his mother.
Johnson pleaded “not guilty”. He said his actions were “”protected speech”, and claimed the Texas law against flag desecration is unconstitutional.
Houston County Court-at-Law Judge Sarah Clark ordered Johnson to write a three-page report on the proper uses of the flag while she studies the law on flag desecration. The judge says she will issue a ruling at a hearing on October 17th. Stay tuned.
