NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — East Texas police say a 3-year-old girl has survived falling from the hood of a moving vehicle as authorities try to determine if a 12-year-old was driving.

Nacogdoches police Sgt. Greg Sowell said Thursday that the victim was treated for minor injuries.

Sowell says the youngster who fell from a passenger vehicle had been left at a residence with some adults Wednesday night. Sowell says police are trying to figure out who was driving. Nobody was arrested.

He says a 12-year-old girl who lives at the home previously was allowed to drive a vehicle. Sowell says that vehicle matches the description of the one witnesses say was being operated when the 3-year-old fell from the hood during a turn.

Sowell had no additional information about the children or their parents.
